The Swami's Catch-22

When you are present
to the world of infinite perfection and satisfaction,
to the world of absolute acceptance,
to the world of profound peace and joy,
to the world of the infinite now,
to the world of bliss,
then you have arrived.

You have arrived at the world
of no more striving
of no more struggling
of no more wanting things to be different.

But how do we find this other world?

If you try to find this world,
your trying will prevent you from finding it.
If you are dissatisfied with your current world,
with your current circumstances,
then your dissatisfaction
will keep you from finding the other world.
Any attempt to find this other world
will be an expression that you're not in it.

How do we give up trying?
Giving up is just more trying.

If you try to reach paradise,
then that will re-establish you in non-paradise.
If you try to let go of trying, then you are still trying.
There is nothing you can do.

Welcome to the swami's Catch-22.
Welcome to life's Catch-22.
Welcome to life.

Consider the idea that it really is hopeless.

Perfect Imperfect
We and the world are glorious in our perfection. We experience the world and ourselves as imperfect. We try to change the world and ourselves to make it all perfect. In trying to change the world and ourselves, we can never experience the world and ourselves as perfect. Our glorious experience of perfection includes embracing our experience of the world as imperfect, including embracing our trying to change the world and ourselves to try to make it all perfect. Life is a game that is about both going for anything and going for nothing.
- Dwight GoldWinde (March 12, 2000)

The words of truth are always paradoxical. - Lao Tzu

The only difference between me and a madman is that I'm not mad.
- Salvador Dali (1904-1989, painter)
